Larson & Larson Construction was contracted for five different projects at Drake University, (listed below) which helped transform Drake's central courtyard into the newly named Helmick Commons.
Kragie Newell Agora: Home to numerous outdoor events including concerts and business gatherings, this new outdoor pavilion features limestone columns, limestone veneered walls, stone walkways and an expansive trellis system.
Branson Plaza: Named after a former student, this outdoor plaza feature limestone retaining walls and landscaping.
Principal Plaza: As part of the Olmsted Building renovation, this outdoor gathering area includes curving concrete walls with fiber optic lighting, stainless steel benches, and a colored concrete plaza.
Lane Plaza: Featuring a granite paver plaza, granite benches, and extensive landscaping, Lane Plaza serves as the grand entrance to Meredith Hall, home of Drake's School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
Helmick Courtyard: This new plaza includes concrete walks, stone and wood benches, and landscaping.
